REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS

PART 1 - GENERAL

1.01                SUMMARY

1.02                SAUDI ARABIAN CONDITIONS

A.                    Comply with conditions, traditions and customs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the performance of the works.

1.03                JURISDICTIONAL AUTHORITIES

A.                    Adhere to all requirements of jurisdictional authorities in the works in the employment of personnel. Such adherence shall extend to all work performed for the works both on-site and off-site.
B.

C.                    Requirements of jurisdictional authorities shall apply to the works in precedence to the requirements of the plans and specifications, except that more stringent requirements of the plans and specifications shall take precedence over requirements of jurisdictional authorities.

1.04                PRODUCTS

A.                    Products incorporated in the works shall meet all requirements of jurisdictional authorities as applicable.

1.05                FIRE PREVENTION AND SAFETY
A.                    Enforce fire protection methods, good housekeeping and adherence to local and equipment approved by the jurisdictional authorities, except where more explicit requirements are specified.

B.                    Maintain clear emergency exit paths for personnel at all times.

C.                    Use only fire resistant tarpaulins and similar protective covering on site.
1.06                FIRE PROTECTION OF STRUCTURE

A.                    Ensure that nothing subverts the integrity of fire protection provided for the building structure.

B.                    Coordinate work of all section so that they do not encroach on space required for fire aged during construction is totally replaced.

1.07                FIRE SEPARATIONS

A.                    Ensure that fire separations are installed to maintain total integrity and that they are not diminished or breached by work following their installation.

B.                    Replace fire separations which have suffered a lessening of their required retying during construction.

C.                    Voids in Fire separations:
Ensure that voids between components of floor and wall fire separations and voids surrounding penetrations of floor and wall fire separations are sealed to meet requirements of jurisdictional authorities and of section 07270, Firestopping and Smoke Seals.

1.08                REQUIREMENTS OF REGULATORY AGENCIES

A.                    Provide protection measures consisting of materials constructions and methods required by jurisdictional authorities to save persons and property from harm.

B.                    Ensure that pollution and environmental control of construction activities are exercised as required by jurisdictional authorities during performance of construction of the works.

C.                    Site Access:
1.         The contractor shall be responsible for making arrangements with and obtaining necessary permits from jurisdictional authorities to ensure access to the site for construction personnel, delivery of products and construction equipment, and performance of work. The Owner will not be responsible for obtaining permissions for access or for any payments required by jurisdictional authorities for provision of access.
2.         Except where special permission is obtained, maintain clear access for roads and sidewalk.




D.                    Maintain roads and sidewalks clear of construction materials and debris, including excavated material. Clean roads and sidewalks as frequently as required to ensure that they are cleared of materials, debris and excavated material.
