CHIEF ECONOMIST POSITION AVAILABLE
Planning & Development Board is the principal organization responsible for planning, coordinating and monitoring annual and special development programs of the province. The P&D Board prepares an overall medium term framework for the development activities in various sectors of the provincial economy to guide the development process. As a key member of the Planning & Development Board, Chief Economist has following responsibilities:- *
Identification, preparation, appraisal monitoring and evaluation of development projects. • Policy analysis and review. • Preparation of development plans and development budgets. Analysis of economic situation and preparation of reports. • Preparation of credit estimates for the National Credit Plan. • Handling of all multilateral as well as bilateral external capital issues and technical assistance. • Representing the Government in meetings with program , TA., fact finding, project identification, preparation, appraisal and review missions as well as loan negotiations. The prescribed qualification/ criteria for the post of Chief Economist is as under:-
This assignment is open to both public and private sector candidates. The recruitment will be made on contractual basis for three years initially which will be extendable subject to requirement and satisfactory performance. Development Economics/ Agricultural Economics/ Transportation Economics/ Industrial Economics/ Business Administration or Public Finance from recognized university. Ten years experience in the field of Deve-lopment Administration and Research in the area of Economics/ Macro-Economic Policy Making/ Public Finance or other fields of Economic Planning or Development and; At least ten publications (books! articles or research papers printed in well reputed national and international journals/ periodicals, to be evaluated by the Commission)
